Preserving family history, privately
Family History Archive (FHA) is an invitation-only genealogy application maintained by Ben McCoy for family research.
What the archive does
FHA organizes people, places, life events, family relationships, sources and citations. It keeps edit and import history to help administrators understand how records have changed.
Access to the archive is restricted to authorized family members and administrators. These informational pages do not provide access to family records.
Optional Google Drive backups
The Google authorization application is named Family History Archive Backups. Its Drive connection lets the designated backup administrator save an archive export to a dedicated folder in their own Google Drive.
FHA requests the limited drive.file permission to work with files it creates or files explicitly made available to the app. It checks the connected account, creates a backup and verification report, and downloads the new backup to check its integrity. It does not request access to every file in your Drive.
Backups contain genealogy records and edit/import history. They do not include media files, application secrets or access settings. Saving a backup does not restore data or change archive records. Automatic scheduling is not currently enabled.
